YOGIC DIET

Detox and fasting

Fasting is nature’s healing agent. A fast gives the digestive system a rest, eliminates toxins and rejuvenates the entire body. Physically, it gives nature a chance to clean the system and give it a complete overhaul. Mentally, a fast develops concentration, strengthens the willpower and helps to release negative emotions. Thought processes slow down, resulting in clarity of mind.We will be fasting on carrot juice and vegetable broth – a gentle way to help your body detoxify. The fast will be combined with the practice of kriyas, classical cleansing techniques to further purify the body. Yoga and meditation are an important aspect of the detox and fasting day.

get a better life with a perfect body

The yogic diet is based on fresh, light, nutritional food bringing harmony and vitality to both body and mind. Pure ingredients such as grains, vegetables, pulses, fruits and nuts produce an abundance of energy. They also leave a positive imprint on the mind, nourish our thought processes and shape our emotions.

According to Ayurveda, each person will be influenced by certain elements more than others. This is because of their prakriti, or natural constitution. Ayurveda categorizes the different constitutions into three different doshas: Vata dosha, in which the air and space elements dominate, Pitta dosha, in which the fire element dominates and Kapha dosha, in which the earth and water elements dominate.

Just as you want to focus on eating light vegetarian foods, avoid the heavy ones. Fried, oily and non-vegetarian foods will make your meditation practice much harder, because these foods take a long time to digest and that same energy could have been used for your meditation. Oily, meaty meals also make you tired, turning your meditation into a long and deep nap!

Ayurveda dates back more than 5,000 years ago and is believed to be the most ancient medical system in the world. By cultivating a balanced way of living in physical and mental harmony with nature, we can attend to the root cause of imbalances.

As a practice, it is beneficial to drink two liters of water a day. If you do not like water, add a bit of fruit juice to your glass, but avoid carbonated beverages! Listen to your body and drink only when you are thirsty. Too much water in one sitting may cause discomfort and make more work for the kidneys. It is also recommended to drink slowly, sip while sitting down, and not to drink water during meals

Ayurveda as a healing science gives much importance to proper nutrition. With an individualised approach to nutrition, we learn to eat what is right for our body type, digestion is facilitated, our constitution balanced and our overall health and well-being enhanced.
Ayurveda is a source of profound knowledge for improving and maintaining good health, curing disease and increasing longevity.

Keeping Your Body at its Best

vegetarian diet

The yogic tradition advocates a vegetarian diet. Predominantly plant-based, this diet ensures that our food gets its energy directly from the sun – the source of all life.

Vegetarian diet

The vegetarian cuisine is fascinating; so full of flavour, colour and creativity. Yes, it is as tasty as it looks! And besides the joy of eating fresh, flavoursome dishes, following a well-balanced vegetarian diet will support you in your practice of yoga and meditation.

diet and body types

A simple change in your food habit conforming to your prakriti (body type) helps you to have a healthy and balanced life, and also experience a deeper meditation.

Diet and body types

A combination of doshas and gunas define our personality type, temperament, body structure, and diet choices. Most people’s prakriti is made up of a combination of two doshas. By understanding the qualities of our natural constitution we are better able to do what is needed to keep ourselves in balance.

Ayurveda- life science

Ayurveda is a holistic science. It aims at preventing disease and improving health and wellbeing. A simple understanding of food can change the way you meditate, and change your life.

Ayurveda-life science

Ayurveda as a healing science gives much importance to proper nutrition. With an individualised approach to nutrition, we learn to eat what is right for our body type, digestion is facilitated, our constitution balanced and our overall health and well-being enhanced.

food and mental health

Ayurveda, the ancient knowledge of life, divides human body type and its doshas or imbalances into three broad categories - vata, pitta, and kapha. We also have gunas (mental constitution) which are referred to as tamas, rajas, and sattva.

food and mental health

The basic nature of the mind is to be calm, happy, and creative or sattvic, along with this, the right amount of rajas and tamas helps us fulfill our daily desires and activities. According to Ayurveda, there is a connection between how we eat, act, our health and mental makeup.

MANAGE STRESS

Choose your food wisely and clear the way for a blissful meditative experience. A healthy body and a calm mind help us meditate better and go deep within ourselves. A vegetarian diet is easier on the body and conducive to meditation as well.

MANAGE STRESS

Good quality meditation, light and a healthy body is essential. Over a period of time, the bad food habits, lack of knowledge of what’s good for our system, lack of rest and sound sleep, as well as years of abuse of body and mind, can cause diseases in the body.

meditation and food

Our food connects us to the earth, to life and to each other. Food not only nourishes the body but affects the mind and its alertness and awareness. Thus it is important to understand our food, our body, and our mind.

Meditation and food

In today's world where stress catches on faster than the eye can see or the mind can perceive, meditation is no more a luxury. It is a necessity. To be unconditionally happy and to have peace of mind, we need to tap into the power of meditation.
